12. We should've done better

It is what it is. If you're good, you'll remain good. If you're struggling with costs of living, nothing will unfold to meaningfully ameliorate that. The powers in Sacramento got what they wanted out of this. It's not even going to be a conversation.

California needs better candidates, but the state party has no incentive to change. How this primary unfolded was a total shitshow from start to finish.

My silver lining is that Saikat Chakrabarti looks like he's being forcefully sent packing. That is satisfying. And so long Porter. She showed voters who she was - and they believed her.

I will say, the polls were, at least so far, really bad in all this. Hard to say. We've only counted about half the votes, but the same day voting and early mail votes have been different than the polling implied. We'll have to see final numbers before knowing where everything broke in the past week.

On the plus side, I may now proceed to not care about any of this. All the Democrats on my ballot will easily win in November.
