I know a lot of contractors that would wholeheartedly disagree with that statement.

You are correct, we don't need to tear it all down. But, we do need to realize that we pretty much need to strip it all to the frame and start over with the 'finishing'. That is what has to be done, and that is what will not be done, because those who are in power do not want to give that power up, which is what they absolutely have to do if we are to fix this shit.

So, here we are. Until we remove the insane selfish greed that is modern capitalism, we will never be able to progress beyond 'greedy, self-absorbed country'. Until we understand that every aspect of our laws and society have been corrupted by that same greed, we are not going to improve anything. Until we stop pretending that the powers that be be give one shit about anyone but themselves, until we stop worshipping them as saviors and 'the anointed', nothing is going to change, and nothing will get better for anyone but those same 'anointed'. And, we will cheer for our own demise while they destroy everything in the name of their decadence and we will applaud them for it.
