5. This was always one of my favorite films of all time

Yesterday

When I first saw it at age 15, I never dreamed that one day, 40 years later, I would make friends and play music with the man who played the submarine captain!

This film was one of the few that the Soviet Union allowed to be shown completely uncensored. Even today, I show it to Russian, Ukrainian and German friends, and not only do they love it, but they are amazed that it is almost 60 years old.

I heard that some later DVD versions had English subtitles for the Russian dialogue, which is pretty funny, too.
