That he had a moral conscience and a spine of principles, then just abandoned who and what he was to curry favor with power.

It was easy to articulate higher values when he hitched his wagon to John McCain, gaining a semblance of character by association. But I suspect he was a chameleon all along, a skilled politician whose words were a reflection -- not a window into his true character.

Do people, at their core, really change so quickly and fluidly?

I suppose it's possible, but I don't believe it in the case of Lindsey Graham.
