(6,199 posts)TA is well over the MIRT post limit. Admin would have to have dealt with it, as in fact they just did with Pab Sungenis. I thought I was pretty specific about it being an admin issue.
I don't ignore misogyny. That seems to be what's upsetting you. I am frequently vitriolic when women attack other women's rights or infantilize/degrade/insult other women to push an agenda- I take it personally when people try to use the feminist label (MY label) to do that. And if you're going to keep pointing the personal finger, I can note with some pride that I have never needed a sock to do so.
Socks used to result in a ban, too, come to think of it.
As for the nasty words, I can remember a man referring to Beyonce and her dancers as "sluts en regalia", and got a response of Woohoo! What a great daddy! from some of the same people who complain about the word at any other time. So apparently it's OK for some, much like referring to women as dogs is OK for some. The unequal standard bothers me. It's not a requirement that it bother you. I can argue the point without your help. I sure hope you're not insisting I should shut up about it, though.
You're free to disagree with anyone you like. You don't get to voice that opinion in a vacuum, not in GD at any rate. This is a public forum on a public board. Other people also have a right to disagree, however odious or "silencing" you may find that concept. I believe several people have already explained this to you.
I don't think the admins are bigoted against men. I support the bans for misogyny that have occurred so far. I think they try to be more careful with the issue of feminism, with them being men and with feminism being such a broad concept, and prefer to err on the side of caution with misogyny displayed by women. That's been my impression, anyway.
