Well I'm sure he had mental health issues from his time in the military, if he was instrumental in taking the lives of others that is a heavy burden to carry. But when he says "Americans would pay attention only to “spectacles and violence" he shows his delusional thinking. He created a spectacle because he wanted Americans to pay attention to him. From what I've read it seems he was lost in the right-wing fever swamps of the magat movement. That alone is a dangerous place to be but when you combine those extreme political or religious movements with his obvious serious mental health issues that is a terrible and deadly place to be. Unfortunately the tabloid media culture in this country will give him exactly what he wanted, attention.
