They still haven't recovered from all the losses since this fiasco began. They are maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of the way there but still not all the way back yet. They often use this type of volatility to "re-balance their portfolios" (buying low, selling high and whatnot, with a different mix of items). But doing that requires a bit more attention (even with the programmed trading), especially if they are also looking at bonds (and yields/interest rates, which are doing some weird things at the moment).
