This would not be a speculative rise. It's a real "supply disruption".

And here in Philly, we only briefly (probably less than a month) had below $3/gal. The last time I topped off just before our nightmare snow/sleet storm, I was paying something like $3.19/gal. I think it was right after Christmas when I saw something like $2.79/gal at some spots.

Also get ready for the avian flu-related egg/chicken price spike! Here in the PA/NJ/DE tristate area, there have been thousands of dead Canada geese reported and something like the culling of over 7 million chickens in just one month. This was thanks to an extended period of brutal cold, which forced non-migrating birds to huddle closer together and in larger numbers than normal, and that helped to rapidly spread the disease, not only among themselves, but to domesticated flocks.
