There is no celebration. And the fireworks going on will not be in celebration of anything except little boy's excitement at making things go "boom"... just like their male adults delight in making things go "boom" that kill others. I see no celebration in that. I also see no celebration because we are so far away from the initial founding of this country that it doesn't even resemble anything the founders tried to create. All it is to me is a time of terror for myself and my critters. And I'm especially worried this year because I have a young cat who hasn't gone through this before, and is a "nervous nellie" about everything. I fear what it will do to her pysche. At least I've found some calmative herbal meds that work well for my dog. Now, if I could only get some valium for myself!!!
