CRP (Committee for the Reelection of the President) of Watergate break in fame, better known as CREEP, was the forerunner of Trump's election shenanigans. It included some real jackasses who would feel right at home in Trump's orbit. G. Gordon Liddy, Howard Hunt, Roger Stone......oh wait, Stone is in Trump's orbit too. Interesting linkage. If Elon were an adult back then, I'm sure he would have fit right in.

For some in that baseline, they have this strange, inner desire for someone to lead them and validate their sometimes bizarre views on things. For others, they view Trump as simply a fellow traveler. One of their own in the White House. A psychopath.
