5. We have had bearded collies for a long time and used to compete in herding competitions

My ex-wife's beardie won the national herding competition for Bearded Collies a long time ago. Hearding dogs have different ways of herding. Beardies bounce.


My old beardie won a ribbon for herding chickens a long time ago. My current beardie is also black (most beardies fade)

Border collies use what is referred to as a strong eye to herd

Borders give the sheep such an intense stare that the sheep will move

If you get a chance, go to a herding trial. It is amazing watching these dogs do what they were bred to do
