collecting Disney and I have several versions of Steamboat Willie (CD collections, etc.). Amazing to see Disney back then (Willie) vs. the Disney of today.

Such a major contrast and in a way, to me as a collector, a disappointment, being that Disney, like all commercial enterprises, does go after the almighty dollar for the revenues (which any commercial enterprise is absolutely entitled to do, they still on some fronts do put out classics today).

I have chatted w/ some artists who drew some of the Disney comics, and they did talk about the company and its stance on art, and what they got out of the situation in drawing, inking, etc. for Disney. It's not all fun and games and such, but a business, kind of the first time when I realized the difference in how Disney was run vs. the artists that worked for Disney.
