The Beatles' first appearance on U.S. TV was not "The Ed Sullivan Show" [View all]

We're coming up to the anniversary of the Beatles' debut on "The Ed Sullivan Show," which is Feb. 9. But that wasn't the first time U.S. viewers saw them. On Nov. 18, 1963, this was. It was a news report on "The Huntley-Brinkley Show" by NBC's Edwin Newman.
