Missed last night's episode, but will catch it tonight.
I was attracted to the first season, years ago, by its allusions to Ambrose Bierce's, Robert Chambers' and H.P.Lovecraft's series of stories concerning Hastur, Carcosa and The King In Yellow. The bleakness and eternal night of Alaska nicely echoes the despairing atmosphere of these author's stories. I see echoes of the Plain of Leng and Kadath In The Cold Waste, not to mention Cassilda's Song from Chamber's play "The King In Yellow".
Then, of course, there's Jodi Foster. What an actor! Her character is unpleasantly abrasive, and fascinating to watch. I want to find out what makes that cop tick.
