But I believe, by law, they can't start counting them until the polls close. Your ballot will be cued up into the tabulating machine, and at 8:01 they turn it on.

I saved the state fifty cents, or whatever the USPS charges the state for postage these days, by dropping my ballot of at the lock box positioned at my Podunk city hall yesterday. It's collected every morning so, I will check with my county later this afternoon to see if they received it.
