As a teacher, I would LOVE for some parents to see how despicable their kids act. They would be ashamed of them. I have nothing to hide. Mic and camera me up! I'm always professional and a great teacher. I would actually welcome being observed by the world. It's one of the few things that I disagree with the teacher's union about. They are adamantly against it, but I think it would knock the socks off of some indulgent parents with entitled kids and overly lenient administrators to see how awful some of the students are. OR, maybe it would have the unintended consequences of making the students behave if they knew they were being observed? In one of my lessons, I have students act as TV anchors. They write their own scripts and sit at a desk and pretend to present the news while I film them. During this week of "broadcast news," I leave my camcorder in the corner. When a student starts to act up, they look at the camera and ask, "Is that thing on?" I always say yes, and then they sit down and behave, one eye on the camera. I love it!
