Having been born and raised in Hawaii, where my mother's side of the family have been at least since the time of Kamehameha I...I can tell you that there is no Hawaiian island of "Kailua-Kona"!

Kailua-Kona is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States. It is also known as Kailua (a name it shares with a community located on the windward side of Oʻahu), as Kona (a name it shares with the district to which it belongs) and as Kona Town. Kailua-Kona is the second-largest settlement on the island of Hawaii (after Hilo) and the largest settlement on the west side of the island, where it is the center of commerce and the tourist industry.
