I always hated the point in nearly every game where the losing team intentionally fouls to delay the game, playing the clock rules for a missed free-throw or scoring turn-over. It rarely works but remains the go-to technique for creating the potential of pulling victory from the jaws of defeat.

It's all about the clock and the advantage of delay. An advantage not earned by effort, skill or rightness of purpose but from the entropy inherent in delay. Thus it goes, justice delayed is justice denied or, in this case, vaccination deferred is death by virus.
