These legislators want to set up a separate pseudo -court that would take the place of the actual court. If allowed, it will render the Judiciary Branch powerless.
Their philosophy is that if you can't get what you want by playing by the rules, in this case the state constitution, then just change the rules to void that particular part of the state constitution.
How very fascist of them!
This is very similar to what Netanyahu and the Likud party tried to do in Israel.
