8. Hutto Could Have A Chance,If....

The normal Democratic vote in statewide races in SC is between 45%-47%.Thomas Ravenel,a former Republican State Treasurer who spent federal time on drug charges ,has re emerged on the scene as star of a silly realty show on Bravo channel and as a self styled eccentric libertarian type.He is threatening to run as an Independent and to spend his own money(he is a multi millionaire) in the effort.He maintains some following particularly along the coast.There is also a Libertarian Party candidate.If Ravenel does run and he and the Libertarian get as much as 7% of the vote(a possibility )AND Hutto could poll at the outer limits for a Democrat statewide(47%) ,then he would have a shot.

Lots of "ifs" though,admittedly,but it could happen.
