4. Is it? I've always thought it was because they wanted to avoid federal regulation.

It is embarrassing that the Energy Capital of the world can’t handle the electricity demand necessitated by extreme, but entirely predicable, weather conditions....both heat and cold.

During the freeze catastrophe, I found out that portions of the Panhandle and some along the Tx/La border are not on the Texas grid and had no issues while the rest of the state suffered for 5 days with no electricity or water in many cases. The billions of dollars damage was not enough to do anything other than cause State leadership to double down on blaming "green energy" for the problem when in fact it was a fossil fuel problem (gas).
