In reply to the discussion: Texas secessionists feel more emboldened than ever [View all]Axelrods_Typewriter
(298 posts)Not to mention the political unknown quantity that would result from this would cause many businesses to pull out and go to the US. Y'know, where there are government entities protecting the global trade of those businesses. Instead of the wild west where you have to generate your own power like you're a MASH unit. And where you would be swiftly blockaded and sanctioned because the state you were located in tried to secede. Like the last time some states decided to secede and they were blockaded.
Or, maybe the businesses would try to stay (or be forced to) and cease to exist. Can't keep selling the same crap to each-other, eventually you run out of customers and/or raw materials.
But good luck with your fantasy of being rich. Methinks the Texas dollar would be about as valuable as a 20 year old bottle of Bosco stored in a hot attic.
Oh, you aren't a nation either. You're a state with a bunch of self-congratulatory propaganda. Even heroin dealers know not to get high on their own supply!
