They did not recognize that Fox was the creation of Ailes dream of GOP TV. He pushed that idea on Richard effing Nixon!
The UAW funded a progressive working class radio network for years until they elected a new president. This preceded the killed from within Air America network.

If someone spends decades ignoring good advice and failing to examine or modify a losing strategy, it would be reasonable to question the intent or competence of that someone.
