This is a huge investment. Large NG cracking plants are on the order $10B and need a lot of government subsidies to make them economical given the plants could take up to a decade to build (and there's some uncertainty if they'd be profitable that far out in the future). Building pipelines this long is expensive and risky. Large government buy ins would be needed with no guarantee that this would be payed off on profits alone.

Which begs the question, would the resources necessary to bring this project to fruition be better spent on something else?
