11. When you say "the battery connection broke", I assume you mean the power supply that energizes the laptop and charges

the battery on AC voltage...correct? Power supply vs. battery failures can be hard to diagnose. Take the battery out and see if the laptop powers up on powersupply. If so, battery problem. If not, PS problem.
