because he intends to retire before the election? He wants his grandson APPOINTED to the position AFTER Chuck wins re-election. If Pat runs in 2022 he’ll lose. Whoever the Democratic candidate is (and it won’t be Axne) could win by simply by pointing out that U S Senator is not supposed to be an inherited position.
