One observation though. In 2004, I noticed that Kerry was always much happier and more relaxed when Teresa was there. In fact, I remember watching his NYU speech in Sept 2004 on Iraq and noticing his face suddenly brighten and his entire appearance seemed to be more relaxed - at the end of the paragraph, he introduced Teresa, who had come from a different appearance in town.

I think that THIS Kerry, more comfortable in himself (though he was never NOT comfortable), under less arbitrary pressure from the knowledge that anything he jokingly said could and world be used against him, would have won 2004 beyond the cheating. His genuinely principled nature and his charm would have been far more obvious.

That said, his schedule has been amazing - last week he was in Paris, dealing with issues of Syria, Israel/Palestine, Ukraine etc, then to London and dealing with fighting corruption, then leaving mid day London time to fly back to the US and the next day starting a full day with the Nordic leaders, leaving that night after the dinner to fly to Saudi Arabia for talks, now in Vienna to co chair with the Italian FM on Libya today and to attend talks tomorrow on Syria ... from there to fly to join Obama in Vietnam!

(No wonder one of the Nordic leaders spoke of him being everywhere!)
