3. I just looked at apartments for Raleigh

and you can still get a nice 1 bedroom in a complex with a gym, pool, dog park, etc for $800/mo. Cost of living in Raleigh is a lot less than Boston or Philly or NY or DC.

The job seems to have good benefits. Raleigh is expanding bus service and I imagine they are filling new jobs.
