basic premise of that quip -- namely that Covid was not as big of a deal as it was made out to be and the measures to mitigate it were overly onerous.

And you don't need to convince me that that is bullshit. It is.

But for that soundbite to be a magically effective millstone around TFG's neck, in the next two years you need to flip the opinions of people who have spent the last 3 years digging in to defend that exact position. Not gonna happen.
