us have time to read. And far more videos than any of us have time to watch. So when someone just dumps a link or a video, without taking even a moment to say what's there or provide some excerpts or otherwise indicate why we might want to follow the link or watch it, the likelihood of having that link followed or video watched is diminished.

If you say your purpose is to start a discussion, well, you might, uh, say something. If you say that you are too busy for that, then well, don't be surprised if some of us react accordingly. I haven't read the article or watched the video, because the mere presence of a link rarely induces me to click on it .. maybe I'm in a small minority in that regard, but I don't think so.
