I know it's doubly tough if someone in the house is drinking while you are trying not to. I was never an alcoholic but there were times where I drank too much. But I could always quit and did for months or a year at a time. I don't drink anymore these days mainly because science is finding more and more about how harmful it is, especially for us older folks. I don't really miss it and at the store walk right past the liquor aisle with nary a thought about stopping. Sounds like you're in the same place. Life can be great without alcohol.
