A momentous birthday if I do say so myself. (my dad use to say that "if I do say so myself"
not sure what it means or how it fits here!
But I figure if I'm going to turn 60, I might as well make it monumental, you know, like turning 13, 16, or 21. Shoot, I remember my 13th birthday, a newly minted teenager & a Beatlemaniac who was grounded because I spent all my babysitting money on a Beatles' album & a Sixteen magazine & my mom was mad! It was a cold & rainy Saturday, to boot. I remember that day because I was so excited to finally become a teenager; and I decided that I wanted to be 15 and in 10th grade because our newspaper had a picture of 10 graders in it & they looked so cool to me that I knew I just had to be 15, too. Silly kid.
I'm in the middle of having some serious dental work done so I can begin Bisphosphonate Infusion Therapy to try & save my bones. Metastasized breast cancer found it way to my bones, amongst a few other places. I've been having a rough time with some pretty awful bone pain. I've lost a quarter inch of height since last November, & that's not good. And, today, I'm also fighting a miserable cold & cough.
Well, I've gone down memory lane, anyone else have any good memories?
