And three people I've spoken with who have had this procedure in the past few years swear by the anterior hip replacement, though I don't think they had the posterior and so can't compare them.

I have to say, notwithstanding these three telling me "it's the best thing they ever did and they're sorry they didn't do it sooner," I'm not really looking forward to it. Sure, I'd love to put on my socks and shoes like a normal human person, and I really am not fond of the pain I have now, but when I think about what's going to happen, I find it more than a little unnerving.
