8. My father died with dementia in August. His last six months he spent near me

Along with my mom who was the main caretaker. It was horrific watching the strongest man I ever know slowly fall apart. This was especially hard on my mom as my dad was.one of those patients who lost impulse control and would become violent frequently.

What tore at me the most was his daily struggle to hold onto himself. He managed to do this until the very end and passed away with family around in hospice care.
