No "Seniors" Group on DU3? Checking my father into behavioral health, may never come home. [View all]

As largely looming as the senior population and their associated conditions are, I'm surprised not to find a group devoted to issues and questions and resources related to aging.

Oh well.

I sit as I type in the waiting room of the local hospital's behavioral health center where they will admit my 86 year old stepfather for at least 72 hours to determine whether or not he is safe to go home again.

It will be a relief for the neighbors, my mom's 24 hour caregivers, and many others that this bitter nasty man, lately prone to molesting and following women around, will not be there.

Still, if he doesn't come home again, he will be missed.

Funny how that is.

Sad.
