I'm attending a catered Black History Month event at the Nashville Islamic Center.
"We are thrilled to invite you to an impactful engagement in honor of Black History Month, featuring our keynote speaker Dr. Amiri Yasin Al-Hadid. He is the creator of the African Studies department at Tennessee State University, the third principal of the Nashville International Academy, and a published author, who has provided invaluable insights to make this year’s event even more meaningful.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of Malcolm X’s martyrdom, and 2025 would have been his 100th birthday. To honor this, Dr. Al-Hadid will deliver a special keynote address on: "Shaheed El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Malcolm X): Muslim and Human Rights Statesman."
In this event, Dr. Al-Hadid will explore the legacy of Malcolm X, shedding light on his role as both a Muslim leader and a fierce advocate for human rights. Join us for this memorable event as we celebrate Black History Month and honor the incredible contributions of Malcolm X to both the civil rights movement and the Muslim community.
Warm regards,
Islamic Center of Nashville Outreach Team"
