Can I use old paint and primer that have been stored in a very hot attic for years? [View all]

Or should I discard them? I need the paint for touch up so it won't cause any harm if it doesn't work, but I'm wondering if I should take the old primer to hazardous waste and buy new. The can says "do not freeze" but doesn't say how hot it should't get. Advice welcome. Thanks!
