with a feline who can't resist watching things fall to the floor. It's frustrating, but I tolerate it out of love since this is a behavior that can't be changed. I can only reduce it by my own actions of removing temptation wherever possible.

BTW, his expression looks more to me like he's challenging you than trying to explain it away. "So what are you going to do about it?"
