my cats decided to pee on ANYTHING on the floor including the mat in front of the litter box. I got a sifting litter box and put it on the litter box and the pellets on top. I scoop the poop then tilt the sifting tray and “stir” the pellets. The pine pellets turn to saw dust which falls through the sifting tray. Then I dump the box. Somewhat of a pain but it doesn’t track at all and there’s never a urine smell. You can get a 40lb bag of Dr Pols on line from Wal-Mart. I like it best because the pellets are larger and don’t fall through the sifting tray.
