that she was pretty damn scared.
Years later when I was much older I learned about the crisis. Part of the deal with Russia was for the US to take missiles out of Turkey or someplace in exchange for Russia to do the same with Cuba. I think the US govt kept that part of the deal quiet
for 20 + years and US citizens were unaware of it.
