(509 posts)And for the last 3 years, I had daily access to TS/SCI material. I was read into some of the same compartments that she, as SecState, was read into. I am absolutely certain that had I done 1/100th of what has already been spread over the newspapers, I would have had my clearance pulled, been read my rights, and prosecuted under the appropriate regulations pertaining to national security.
I had a kid that worked for me place classified material on top of his car so he could unlock his door to transport the material to a classified location, sit down in the car, and drive off with the material still on his roof. It blew off, and was found by a German cleaning lady, whose father just happened to be mayor of a town in Hungary, then behind the Iron Curtain. Said kid was reduced to the lowest enlisted rank and was never again promoted while he continued to serve.
I personally know of multiple cases where violations of security happened, and the people involved were basically destroyed in place. Some simply got bad discharges and went home, others had to stop by Ft. Leavenworth for a few or 20 years before going home.
This is VERY serious. Even Snowden says so. If Hillary Clinton does not go to trial about this, it will cause unbelievable damage to our national security, simply because everyone will then be able to say "She got away with it. Why am I being charged?" And this will stick. Scum like Jonathan Pollard did 25 years in part for essentially what she is accused of doing. She is, of course, not a spy; but should face charges for the negligent handling of classified material. Now, if she goes to trial and wins, great. She is a smart and experienced woman, one whom I would much rather see as Secretary of the UN than President Obama, if truth be told. I just don't think she will be able to run for POTUS this go around. I feel strongly that if Attorney General Lynch does not prefer charges, that will start the bells officially tolling for the concept of one law for all.
