#1 is how you describe it. The sign is called a 30,06 and refers to the carry of concealed weapons.

#2 is called a 30.07 law and refers to openly carried weapons.

There is also the 51% law for restaurants and "bars". It says that if an establishment makes 51% or more of their income from the sale of alcohol, then no carry, concealed or open is allowed. This is enforced by the Texas liquor laws.
