The story that I heard was that the reason he was able to complete was the honor code. You can't fuck over a fellow cadet, and complete with honor. So they chose not to speak to him. Mr Flipper went through the 4yrs. of the point without anyone saying a word to him, pass or fail was all on him. To me this a romantic story. Just think of it! 4yrs with no one telling you their smallness is your fault. Man I am swooning.

Really though, that was my take away before the research I am starting now. I am vary OK with finding out what I am about in my life, without being told what I am about before I start. Then having self for-filling prophecies nag me all the way to my grave. Really, I swoon.
