I was in Walmart about two weeks ago. An elderly gentleman in a wheelchair was coughing so violently, I thought they would need to call an ambulance. He was masked, but pulling on it because of the coughing.
I avoided being around him, but later made a trip down the same aisle. Three days later, I started coughing. Never had the fever, sore throat, chills, headache etc. Just a severe tightness and full feeling in my lungs, and an endless desire to cough.
It kept getting worse until I was nonstop coughing, and my lungs were full of fluid. No appetite, lost most of my sense of taste and smell.
After two full weeks, feeling a bit better, but weak from it. Still coughing, especially when I lie down.
I looked up RSV on the web and saw a bunch of fairly new websites that offered basic descriptions. Now I think they were put up in anticipation of the new vaccine. I will be first in line to get it.
This is my second or third round of RSV since starting as a substitute teacher in January. Schools are full of it. I'm staying masked until I can get the vaccine.
