I went with my mother to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I took this picture of my mother who was overcome with emotion as she went through the museum and saw what humans are capable of doing to each other. However, she wasn't alone. I saw people of all races wiping away tears as the gravity of the numbers enslaved, killed and abused weighed heavily on them. There's something about this image of my mother that just gets me choked up. 😢

We can hope that history never repeats itself...but look at Dumpty and Muslim ban and deportation...
