Instead of using ally-ship to differentiate themselves from the lives of black people, whites should simply identify with black people as fellow human beings.

It's not a contest to be a good person. You shouldn't expect prizes for being decent human beings looking out for their fellow human beings, who have been placed in a situation beyond their control.
