golden age detective thrillers from Germany. A very odd knockoff of the Holmes/Watson tradition. Lots of side comments by the author about the conditions in Weimar Germany. Eerie.

Later this author would be banned by the Nazis and would then put a bullet through his skull.

Available at Wikilivres as a free download and elsewhere. Don't know of any in English.

Penname "Max Schraut" who plays the role of Watson.
