I'd heard that at at least one of the concerts Jimi was practically booed off the stage by Monkees chanting "We want the Monkees!" I don't know how much truth there is in that. My first exposure to the show was in 1981 when I was 8 or 9. It wasn't a show I sought out originally. It just happened be scheduled in a block of other shows I liked. I became an instant fan. I loved them all but Davy was my favorite. 
One of my regrets was that I didn't go to any of their concerts but the circumstances of that were beyond my control. As a teenager and for most of my adulthood I just didn't have the money to go to concerts. Mike's death hit me kind of hard because now only one of them is still alive.
