1. I don't think his career was "forgettable." He didn't provide much offense,

but he was a fine defensive catcher. He did, however, lead the league in passed balls in 1967, while playing in only 76 games ( he was catching two knuckleball pitchers. He said the best way to catch a knuckleball was to wait until it stopped rolling and pick it up).
