15. As much as Gretzky has appalled me, there is one distinction he has that is hard to wrap my head around.

The year that he set the all-time single season scoring record, he also set the single-season goals record at 94. For those unfamiliar with the NHL, 100 points in a season has long been a benchmark of a great NHL scorer, so 94 goals is pretty spectacular.

If those 94 goals were subtracted from his points total that season, he would still have won the scoring title.
